I think Schwab did a great job in showcasing how different people got “changed” with what happens earlier in the book, because it starts out with all flashbacks, and as the book progresses, they gradually decrease and we understand slowly why they’re in this situation, and how everybody got to the point they were at. It also follows some other perspectives, and those are also extremely disturbing/interesting to read. I won’t give anything away, but the main characters are NOT good people at all. They go horribly wrong.Its 10 years later. I love how it alternates between what happened 10 years ago, describing the things and experiments Victor and Eli are doing, and then flashing forward where we see a dramatic shift in character for both boys.
